CCA treated timbers are treated with Chrome Copper Arsenate. This type of treatment is commonly used to protect timbers and eliminate decay and timber weakening caused by time and biological risks.
If you’re currently removing or replacing old CCA treated fencing, please note that CCA treated timbers may be hazardous if burned, releasing potentially hazardous chemicals. The best practice method of removing old CCA treated timbers is to take used products to landfills and recycle them.
